Renewing Advance Parole just before expiry OR after expiry

My spouse's Advance Parole expires in 3 more weeks. She entered into USA using her AP 1 week back

1) Is it okay to apply for AP renewal just 2 weeks before expiry, considering the fact she used her AP for entering into USA 1 week back

2) Is it okay if AP renewal is applied after the AP expiry, considering the fact she used her AP for entering into USA 1 week back

Note : Her current EAD is valid for one more year. So the question is only about AP renewal

Yes, you can apply for an AP extension prior to the expiration or after. It does not matter how recently the applicant entered the U.S. with the last AP document.
