H4 EAD at the end of STEM OPT

I'm currently in F1 STEM OPT which expires in June  and I have my last H1B lottery chance coming up in March.  My husband has I40 and he is yet to apply for H1B extension and I am planning to apply for H4 EAD if my H1B does not get picked.  So my question here is can I apply for H4EAD along with my husband's extension with a future date for my H4EAD( should start in June) . Will my current status change to H4 immediately ? I still want it to be in OPT so I get two chances in the H1B lottery..... If I wait and apply for EAD separately later, then it would take 4 months for the EAD to arrive which would cause me to stop working after June and wait for the EAD to arrive.. Can someone clarify if applying for h4ead along with my husband's visa change my visa to opt to h4 immediately or get activated in the future data that I mention(in June)
