GayatriK
Hi, I am in US on H1b for around 13 years. I have an approved I-140 with priority date as Jan 2016. I recently laid off from my job in Jan 2024 and my 60 days grace period has already started. I do not have any job offer in hand yet. My employer provided me experience letter with a note that says, ATTN: I-140 case. I have following questions: Do we need to have such a remark of “ATTN: I-140 case” in the experience letter? If I don’t receive any job offer within next 10 days and if I need to apply for change of status to B1 to search for a job, how soon do I need to apply for B1? What happens to the original I-140 approval in following cases? : In case I receive an offer from another employer, a new H1B is filed and approved while the b1 petition is pending In case I receive an offer from another employer and H1B is filed but not approved yet while the b1 petition is pending In case the offer is received post B1 is approved -Thanks, Gayatri.
