Due to personal reasons I do not want to work for a few months and take a break, my kid(2 year old) is dependent(H4) on me, My VISA is valid until 2025 and so does my spouse’s. 1. Is it usual to request change of status for personal reasons? 2. Would it cause any trouble in the long term or while I want to move back to H1 or If I ever want to apply for green card ? (my employer is supportive and willing to change back to H1 when I can). 3. Will it be two different applications, one for me and one for my kid ?
