Port of entry different location H1B

While my H1B is registered in Texas, I’ve been working in Pittsburgh without my employer filing an amendment, and I have a Pennsylvania state ID. I plan to travel to Mexico and return. How can I ensure a safe return to the USA?

As you have been working at a different location without an H-1B amendment being filed, you have failed to maintain valid H-1B status. You need to have an H-1B petition approval for the Pittsburgh location if you want to return and work at Pittsburgh.  Please consult with an immigration attorney to discuss the options you may have to get back in status as you are currently out of status.
