Work at the time of H4 Visa Application

While applying for H4 Dependent visa, can the dependent still be employed in their company in India? Would this cause any issue during the visa interview?

Should not be an issue for the visa interview. However, that employment will have to end once the H4 spouse enters the U.S.

Upon entering the U.S. on H4 visa no work may be done from within the U.S. by an H4 visa holder, regardless of if the employer is located in the U.S. or abroad. Unless of course, the H4 spouse is able to obtain an EAD based on H1B spouse's I-140 approval.

Thank you. If the H4 visa holder has EAD, would he be able to work remotely for the same company abroad?

Yes, if they are eligible for an EAD, and have obtained one, then they have the right to work for any employer.

Thank you. If the person has a H4 visa but is still going to be in India for a while and if they are only going to visit US for 4-5 weeks, at that time can they work for that short duration during their stay in the US for few weeks?

Yes, if they have a valid H4 and valid H4 EAD.
