Is it safe to go for H1B visa stamping in India before 6 months of my current USA visa expires?

Hello Everyone,

My current US visa expires in May 2024. I am planning to visit India in January 2024. Can I go and stamp my visa through the drop box in January 2024? (I am eligible for the drop box option.) I have my H1B until December 2025.

Is it safe to go for H1B visa stamping in India before 6 months of my current USA visa expire? or do I need to wait until it is expired?
