SRIRAM G Posted October 31, 2023 Report Share Posted October 31, 2023 Hello, Hope you are good. Due to a family situation I will have to travel to New Zealand Nov 2023 - Dec 2023. I am an Indian National. My initial H1B visa stamping was done from Chennai in India. It had got expired in Sep 2023 and Visa Extension has been approved for another 3 years. Got the new I797. Now since I will have to travel to New Zealand and return from there directly to US I will need to get the stamping there. I have my spouse working there in NZ work visa. Her H4 will also be done together. I checked with US Consulate there - general advice is to do from the home country, However, they said you may apply here if you are legally present in New Zealand. So wanted to understand if anybody has undergone this situation in the past and successfully got their H1B visa stamping from New Zealand. Any help would be really appreciated. Quote Link to comment
