Shahin Islam Posted October 31, 2023 Report Share Posted October 31, 2023 Hi there, I am a by born citizen of Bangladesh, currently working as a postdoctoral Researcher at a university in Canada (after completing my Master and PhD here from Canada). Recently, I accepted a post-doctoral research position at a renowned university in USA, and they are processing my J1 sponsorship request. I'm wondering if I would be able to apply for my J1 visa from Canada (as a third country, status: non-immigrant, no PR/Canadian Citizen) instead of going back to Bangladesh and applying from there given that the job appointment is from January 1st and it usually takes shorter time if I apply here from Canada.
