golden droplets
Hi, I joined a consultancy and came to US on May 2019, and they started by GC processing. I got my I140 approved in October 2020. After that I worked for the same consultancy for 1 year and 7 months and joined another company (Company A) in May 2022. Company A started the GC, and my PERM is in process. I have valid H1b till Apr 2025 with Company A. Now another company (Company B) has offered me a better position and good package and ready to start GC as I join. My questions are: - 1. By the time I join the company B, it will be late Oct and they might start GC process by Nov/Dec or even later. So, I will have only 13 to 14 months left in my current validity. So, I think I will not have my I140 approved with company B. In that case, will company B be able to apply for my extension (after Apr 2025) using the previously approved I140 (from the first consultancy). 3. Is it good idea to make a move now or wait till April 2025 with the current company and get the extension and then transfer to a new company? I am very confused. Please help me. Thanks in advance. Attorney_24
The previously approved I-140 from the first consultancy can be used by company B as a basis to extend your H-1B status beyond the 6 year term. Quote Link to comment
