EAD approval (F1 I-765)

Hi all,

I applied for an EAD (first time after my graduation) and haven't seen any changes in the status on the USCIS page. It has been two months, and I am worried. I provided September 18th as my employment start date.

If I don't receive the card by mail on or before September 18th and receive it at a later date, what will be my EAD start date?

Also, please let me know the application date of someone who recently received their EAD card.

My application date: June 28th.

Generally speaking, one must have the approved EAD prior to commencing OPT employment. Your start date should coincide with the validity period on the EAD. You may want to consider filing a request for premium processing, however, we would expect you should receive a decision in under three months.

Thank you. I did not choose to go for premium processing but yes I received an approval notice letter yesterday. I am awaiting the EAD card to arrive.
