Matthias
Hello All ! My employer would like me to relocate to the US (from Germany / Austrian citizen) with an L1-A visa to "better support my plans to study at a US university". During the 5 months I'd spend at the US university, I will not be able to work and therefore plan to take an leave of absence (LOA). Would I be loosing my L1-A status if I go on a 5 months LOA to study? Regards. Matthias Quote Link to comment
JoeF
This looks like an abuse of the L1. The L1 is for work for the employer. While you could study in your spare time, you still need to work for the employer. If you want to study you should get an F1 visa. Both you and the employer should discuss this with a competent immigration lawyer. Edited August 3, 2023 by JoeF Quote Link to comment
