jpnlabs
Hi, Consider this situation A person lives and works in the USA on H1B (India). He applies for temporary residence permit by investment in the EU (One that requires only 7 days of stay in the specific country per year to continue renewing the permit) Meanwhile the employer in USA files for the person's green card and it gets approved. Can the person continue holding the EU temporary residence permit (which requires 7 days of stay per year in that EU country) without abandoning his LPR status in the USA. For all purposes, the person will live and work in the USA except the 7 days (per year) when he will be visiting the EU country. The EU residence permit will purely be used for visa free travel in the schengen area for short summer vacations. USA will be the country of residence always. Just wondering will this cause any issues while naturalizing eventually in the USA. Thanks Quote Link to comment
JoeF
Don't expect US authorities to know or care about rules in another country. Such rules could change. As an LPR, you have to permanently reside in the US. Residence in another country is usually a red flag for US authorities concerned about Permanent Residency in the US.
