aj3085
Hi, My wife is currently in US on h1b visa. I am applyling for h4 visa (first time stamping -any visa). I have couple of queries in the ds 160 form. 1. Regarding primary occupation, i am confused between homemaker and not employed. I currently do have any employment. I registered a private company in my name, which was shutdown in 2021. I was the majority stakeholder and managing director of the company. It was registered in 2013, all operations were stopped after march 2018 and I filed for closure in 2020 after two non operating financial year rule in india. Eventually it was shutdown in 2021. 2. Regarding previous employment, should i list my closed company as employment. I am not sure if it qualifies as employment, since I was technically the owner of the company and was not drawing any salary or renumeration. Kindly advise. Attorney_26
If you are currently not working you can either say home maker or unemployed. If the company existed only on paper and your did not do any work for the company and had no income from the company, then generally you would not list that as past employment. Quote Link to comment
