OPT EXTENSION REJECTED

Hi,

My OPT extension has be denied due to some missing info and told to submit by application again but my current OPT is expired, Can I file for my extension again?

please let me know I am worried about my status

Unfortunately, the deadline for filing an application for STEM OPT extension cannot be extended. USCIS will reject or deny any STEM OPT extension filed after the expiration of the first-year OPT. However, you may still use the 60-day grace period in F-1 status to transfer to another program of study or apply for change of status without having to leave the U.S. The best course of action will depend on your specific circumstances - therefore, it is advisable that you discuss your exact situation with an attorney.
