suman2688
I have a question regarding h4, in 2020 my i94 expired on 06/02 but my h4 ead card has validity till 08/13 so i worked till 08/13/2020 and my employer run pay for that period. Working after i94 expiry is illegal? Quote Link to comment
suman2688
And what happens if someone report this to USCIS/DHS? Quote Link to comment
Attorney_15
Generally, an EAD Card does not provide status, only work authorization. However, for an H4EAD Card to be valid for work one generally is required to either have an unexpired H4 I-94 Card or have a pending I-539 extension application of one's H4 status that was filed before the H4 I-94 Card expired. For specific legal advice regarding whether a particular situation is/was unauthorized employment and what consequences might result from such work it is a good idea to consult directly with an attorney who can review the specific facts in order to provide specific advice.
