Amend job profile in L1A

I am planning to make a role change within the same firm/ location. 

  1. Do the firm's lawyers have to amend my L1A profile? ( assuming its a material change in role)
  2. If the lawyers need to, typically how much time it takes?
  3. Have finished an year with the firm and am eligible for company sponsored Green card process. ( process hasn't started yet). Would this have an impact on the GC process?
