Asylum on Visitor visa

I am currently residing in the United States on an H1B visa with an approved I140 petition. In the past, I sponsored a visitor visa for a family who came to visit me. Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the family had to file for asylum and stayed in US. I am now concerned about the potential implications this situation may have on my future green card application and sponsoring individuals for visitor visas in the future. I would greatly appreciate if someone could provide me with the necessary information and guidance on these matters.
