ra054210
Hello, I received my naturalization certificate last week. Now I want to apply for family-based GC for my parents. Do I have to wait for some time to apply for their GC or can I do it immediately? They are currently with us in Michigan (on visitor visa) and would be returning back to India late August. So I want to apply asap. Do you think it is OK to do that? Also, my parents arrived in the US just yesterday. Is there a recommended waiting time after which we should apply for their GC? I appreciate your advise. Thank you! Edited May 4 by ra054210 Quote Link to comment
JoeF
You can do it immediately. However, that may look bad with them just having arrived on a visitor visa. Best to wait 60-90 days. Edited May 5 by JoeF Quote Link to comment
ksribhas
1. you can apply for them anytime from now. Do not need to wait for your US passport etc 2. No recommended wait time. 3. Plan their return trip properly. They cannot return to India with their Advance Parole pending. They need to have return travel document. Their existing B1/b2 would not be a valid type to return to US. Quote Link to comment
