H1B Stamping/Transfer without latest W-2

Dear Sir/Madam:

2 Questions:

1. Is previous year W2 required for the H1-B visa transfer?  Will 3+ months pay stubs work?
   Amount on my previous year W2 is lesser than the actual amount in the LCA H1-B.

2. If I go for H1B stamping, will the officer asks for the latest W-2 (or) how many years of W-2 will they usually ask for/check? 

Please advise.
