shrajas
I am an F-1 student who will be joining a startup next month. However, the team has never hired anyone on an F-1 visa before, and they are not familiar with the specific steps required by USCIS and F-1 regulations for onboarding. While they have completed e-verification, they are uncertain about whether they need to file an I-9 case on the portal, which, as per my research, is only necessary for STEM-OPT extension. Since I will be joining on post-completion F-1, I don't know if an I-9 is generally submitted to USCIS (based on this I guess it's not filed anywhere: https://www.uscis.gov/i-9 ). As a result, I wanted to ask if anyone knows about the employer's obligations in hiring a post-completion F-1 visa holder. Here's a link I found online related to post completion F1 OPT hiring requirements which I provided to the company: https://www.optnation.com/blog/how-to-hire-opt-students/ Quote Link to comment
