Gb0907
Hi, Me and my wife converted to H1B and H4 visa recently from F1 and F2 respectively. She wants to pursue Masters but her F1 was rejected in July 2020 and Dec 2020 in Delhi and Mumbai. Now we are planning to apply for her H4 to F1 change of status for the same university. Can previous F1 rejections impact the approval? If yes, what care should we take to increase approval probability? Thanks Quote Link to comment
Attorney_15
A person who was refused an F-1/F-2 visa at a US Consulate can generally still apply for a change to F-1 status from H-4. USCIS is not bound by the refusal decision by a consular officer. One would want to include documentation of their connection to their home country as part of the application seeking a change to F-1.
