Sri Phani S P
Hi, I am currently on H1B visa (approved in 2020) and visited India for the first time on H1B in December 2022. I submitted my documents at Chennai ( i797, employment verification letter and passport) for my visa stamping. I received a notice from the consular noting that my H1B has not been approved for the following reasons: 1. please provide SEVIS payment confirmation receipt 2. 2015 SEVIS violation (I went to the U.S. in 2016 on F1 visa for my Masters'. I got an admission in 2015, but deferred it to 2016 - I am not sure if this is related to that F1 status). Can someone please provide more insights into this request and what I need to do to resolve it. Thank you, Sri Phani Quote Link to comment
LeaveMessageH1B
Looks like you may have violation/ gaps from your time on F-1 or F1 to H1 transition. Provide them with actual and deferred i-20's, give them SEVIS payment receipt and do not exclude any docs. Quote Link to comment
