Old or new passport number in DS160 form

My old passport is valid till August 2023 and I also have received a new passport after renewal. So my question is while filling the ds160 form for h1b visa extension do I need to fill in the new passport number or the old passport number since it is still valid?

Also if new passport number is to be used then do I need to first update my profile at cgifederal website with the new passport number and then start filling the ds160 form?
