H4 start date for change of status from F1-OPT to H4-EAD

Hi there,

My wife is on F1-OPT expiring on May 22 2023. I have H1B valid till Jan Dec 2024 and an approved i-140. I recently applied for change of status for my wife from F1-OPT to H4-EAD since she got one last chance at H1B lottery in 2023.

My question is, the change of status application was submitted on Nov 17 2022 and we can opt a start date for H4. We opted for May 23 2023 for us. Is it okay to select a start date that is over 6 months from application submit date? Currently, the H4 start date is little over 6 months from application submit date.
