Old priority date

Hi,

I was in the US on H1B from 2005 to 2015. I applied for my I-140 and got a priority date of March 2011 on EB2. In 2015 I returned to India. Now I’ve accepted a job in the US again but the lawyer mentioned that I can’t restore my H1B status because my priority date had become current while I was in India and I did not file for my GC immediately. So we decided to file for my L1B blanket and I’ve got my visa (travelling in Jan). I want to understand whether there is any way that I can get back my old priority date or transition back to H1B (short of starting a new petition, getting a new priority date etc).
