Is it a good practice to postpone Oath ceremony due to impending international travel?

Recommended Posts

Hi - I have Oath ceremony scheduled by USCIS but have booked my international trip 10 days after the ceremony. I'm pretty sure that I won't get a passport by then and a visa (to the country I'm traveling).  Hence looking to see if I can postpone the Oath ceremony by writing a letter to USCIS with appropriate reasoning and tickets (as proof) of my travel.

Is postponing an Oath ceremony frowned upon by USCIS (not recommended) or should I push out my trip (big cost to change tickets)?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated
