TN Visa Holder with Expired H1B: Green Card Question

I am a Canadian citizen born in INDIA. Currently working in the United States on TN Visa.

Previously I have been in the US on a H1B visa. I have used all the time ( 6 Years) on the H1B back in 2014.

If I Apply for Perm and I140 while on TN Visa, can I move to my old H1B when I 140 is approved? Is this possible?

Is applying for a New H1B the only possible way?

Greatly appreciate your inputs
