Yash Kabra
I entered the country 45 days before instead of 30 days. The immigration officer acknowledged the violatioin; checked my documents and made an exception and allowed me to enter the US on F-1. (I also have a Valid B2) I have F1 stamped entry on my passport. Now the university is ready to activate my SEVIS but have warned me that because of my early allowance, I may face problem in the future. Do I have to Re-enter even if technically I'm on F1? Lakshm
The immigration officer could have allowed you to enter under the B2 Visa and then you would have had to change status to F1. However, in this case the immigration officer made the exception and allowed you to enter under the F1. So, dont stress about this minor issue. I dont think that you need to "re enter" under F1 Quote Link to comment
