OPT on F1 Visa for 4+1 studies

My son is on F1 Visa and currently undergrad (STEM course) in progress in Arizona State University, also opting for masters which will be 4+1. By the time he complete  his 4+1 studies (May 2024) his stamped F1 Visa will also expire on Jul 14, 2024.

My question is how he can go for OPT in USA as well as during the OPT if he need to leave USA for home country visit then how and which Visa he can get stamped to enter back in USA.
