Grapefruit
I am currently working in the US on an H1B visa with an i94 valid till 2024 for Company A. I recently got an H1B transfer approved from Company B. I received the I-797A notice with a new i94 number. I want to now decline the offer from Company B and continue working for Company A. However, when I tried to access my most recent I94 from the CBP website, it shows the new i94 number with past arrival/departure record. I am concerned about why the new I94 number is on the cbp website since I thought this is only updated at port of entry and cbp does not make updates based on USCIS change of status. Is my old I94 number still valid? Is there anything that I need to sort out before declining offer from Company B or can I move forward with that? Quote Link to comment
Mohan Singh
There's usually no communication between USCIS and CBP. So it's rather odd that CBP updated the I-94 based on the new I797A notice... Disclaimer: This is not to be construed as legal opinion. Quote Link to comment
