Work on H4 visa

Hi,

I am on H4 visa and have completed my CPA exams in 2010. To get the CPA license, you have to have 2000 hours working experience in accounting or any other finance field.

Can anyone suggest if I can work as an intern/volunteer work with a CPA firm without accepting any money just so I can complete work experience requirement and get the CPA license.

The LAW is very strict to prevent under the table transactions. It's not just enough if you are not getting paid, you have to prove that no one doing the similar work are also not getting paid. Which I don't think is the case. So it's not called volunteer work.
