SwapWank Posted January 5, 2022 Report Share Posted January 5, 2022 Hello All, My wife has received (on 29th December 2021) approval notice for F-1 visa from her I-539 Change of Status Application. She was on H-4 visa earlier and doing her masters. She has completed 3 semesters and only 1 course left. She will be graduating in Spring 2022. She want to leave for India asap and get F-1 visa stamped. But her University DSO is saying not to travel to India right now. He recommends applying for OPT and after getting EAD card, travel to India. I want to know: 1> Does she require F-1 visa stamping before applying for OPT? 2> How feasible is DSO's recommendation? 3> Can she travel right away to India? Quote Link to comment
