4.5 months validity left on I797A , is it safe to go for stamping

Recommended Posts

Good Evening Members and Experts

I was converted as FTE back in 2019. Due to professional commitments I could not travel to home country for visa stamping.

2020 due to the pandemic , US borders as well as US consulates were shut down. Now i am hearing there are visa appointments available at New Delhi consulate for late march/ early April 2022. That would leave about 4.5 months on my current I-797A. I have I-140 approved and eligible for 3 year further h1b extensions.

Is it safe to travel with less than 4.5 months validity left on I-797A ?? or is it better to first apply for h1b extension in 2022 then go for stamping in 2022.

Thank you very much in advance.
