EB2 priroity date current but no longer on H1B

Hi members,

I have tried looking at the forum but have not been able to find an answer to my particular question hence this post.

I was in the US on H1B for a while with approved I140 (EB2). However, last year due to certain reasons I left my job and US. Recently, I realize that the final action for my priority date is current. I wanted to understand if I have any avenues to pursue Green Card using my priority date.

1. If I find an employer who is ready to sponsor my H1B then can I use the same priority date? It would however take a while to get H1B stamped. So, my question is would it be possible to pursue Green Card through Consular processing while outside US and still awaiting H1B stamping.

2. I have read some articles that I-485 processing has to start within 1 yr of priority date being current. Is this true? Also, is this date the initial date of filing or date of final action? Is there any link to this particular rule?

Thanks.
