H1B-H4 Joint Visa Application, H4 Cancellation & impact on H-1B application

Hi Murthy Law Team,

My employer has scheduled a US Dropbox stamping appointment in India for myself (H-1B) and my spouse (H-4).
Due to certain circumstances, we want to withdraw only my spouse's application.

1. Can this be done without risking or canceling my existing appointment, (i.e. its date and time slot)?

2. If yes, please elaborate on the process.

Since you have dropbox appointment, ask the staff at the Visa Application Center. They are usually much easier to approach to ask questions than at the Embassy itself.

My guess (emphasizing the word "guess") is that if just you appear for your appointment and tell them that only you are applying and provide a rational reason, your spouse's application will just be ignored.
