aksh1234 Posted November 3, 2020 Report Share Posted November 3, 2020 I completed my masters from the US and was working on OPT after that. My OPT was about to end in Aug 2020. My company filed my H1B for the lottery in 2020. But I secured admission in Ph.D. before my OPT end date. I resigned from my company before the OPT end date and did my SEVIS transfer. Parallelly my H1B got approved, but my company didn’t send the withdrawal letter to USCIS. My SEVIS status was automatically got terminated with H1B approved COS on Oct 1. Now my DSO needs a withdrawal letter from USCIS to reactivate the SEVIS. I checked and found that it takes months to get withdrawal acknowledgment from USCIS. My DSO said that I can continue my study but cannot work. My question is, how long can I stay and wait for withdrawal before going Out of Status? Quote Link to comment
