I-485 Pending: Questions about Potential BC RFE

Recommended Posts

Hello,

My I-485 has been pending since Feb 2012 and I might become current in the November bulletin.

I have my original birth certificate that was issued within two months of birth. The names for me, father and mother have initials for middle and last names and the full first name. When I applied for I-485 in Feb 2012, I had include an affidavit from father, copy of original BC and my 10th standard school leaving certificate with my date of birth and father's name. I was unable to get an affidavit from my mother as she passed away in 2009. In the RFE's I received in 2014 and 2016, USCIS did not ask for anything related to BC. I am unable to get any affidavits from relatives as we have lost all touch with them.

Questions:

1) What are the chances of getting a RFE for a second affidavit if I become current next month?
2) What other documentation can I submit instead of a second affidavit?
3) We are in touch with our neighbors who we around at the time of my birth. If I get a RFE for a second affidavit, will USCIS accept an affidavit from neighbors who were aware of my birth?
4) If neighbor affidavits will not work, will a notarized self-affidavit explaining why I cannot get a second affidavit work? If yes, what kind of supporting documentation should be included with the self-affidavit?

Any input from members who went through the similar scenario would he very helpful.

Thank you
