Can I apply for EAD with I-140 from my previous employer provided if my old 140 is still active?

Now that, EB3 filing date for India came down to 2015, people who switched employers based on approved I 140 would want to apply for I765 EAD at least (if not I485). Is it possible to apply for EAD I 765 form based on I 140 from previous employer or a new perm & I 140 is required from current employer to apply for EAD alone.

You can’t apply for ead without applying for i485. The ead eligibility is based on a pending filed i485 and not the i140
