I have a stamped VISA issued under National Interest Exception.I have been living in US for last 7 years. In March-2020 I cam back to India and is stuck here.

In the meantime, my extension was applied and approved under consular processing.

But my original I797 is still with my employer in US.

I have a copy of I797 which I have used during the stamping too.

Any experience or suggestion while traveling with a copy of I797 instead of original.

Many say its mandatory and many attorneys say, copy should suffice since they have everything in PIMS.

please advise.
