curiousness Posted September 15, 2020 Report Posted September 15, 2020 Hi all- I had a question: 797 valid from 3/20/2020 and valid until 1/19/2023 but due to lock-down/proclamation I received my H1 on 9/10/2020 i.e. 174 days after 3/20/2020. Ideally 174 days should get added beyond my current visa end date of 01/19/2023, thereby shifting end date to 07/12/2023, correct? Please advise. Thanks! I-140 approved 3-4 years back (EB3) Regards! JoeF Posted September 15, 2020 Report Posted September 15, 2020 (edited) The end date is never shifted. Your employer will ha e to file an extension before the current t H1 expires. You do get the additional time, because only time spent in the US on H1 counts towards the 6-year limit. Edited September 15, 2020 by JoeF Quote
