JoeF Posted August 17, 2020 Report Posted August 17, 2020 You didn't provide any useful information. How soon after entering did you change universities? What was the reason for it? Quote
Sandeepkondi Posted August 18, 2020 Author Report Posted August 18, 2020 I changed my university immediately after entering USA. But I did not attend any classes in my old university(I entered USA with old university). But why they hold my H4 visa. Please help me with your suggestions. Thank you very much Quote
Sandeepkondi Posted August 18, 2020 Author Report Posted August 18, 2020 During my Visa interview H4 she took documents i797 and marriage certificate and did not gave any 221g form and gave my passport back to me. Is this positive sign of approving Visa Quote
JoeF Posted August 18, 2020 Report Posted August 18, 2020 You still didn't say why you changed universities. This pattern of getting a visa for attending a university and then immediately changing to another university is highly suspicious. This is what people do who want to attend a fraud institution that offers CPT from Day 1. Abuse of that kind will kill the future in the US, including getting other visas. Quote
Sandeepkondi Posted August 18, 2020 Author Report Posted August 18, 2020 Hi sir, I am sorry I just changed university due to fee . It is expensive in my old university and at the same time I did not took any CPT. Quote
JoeF Posted August 19, 2020 Report Posted August 19, 2020 (edited) Also, applying at a university takes quite some time. So, saying that you only decided to change universities was obviously a lie if you changed right after entering. That also can result in a permanent ban. Rule #1: Never lie to an immigration official or a consular officer. Edited August 19, 2020 by JoeF Quote
JoeF Posted August 19, 2020 Report Posted August 19, 2020 You had to show that you had the financial means to attend the original university. So, all your explanations don't make much sense to an observer. And if I as a lay person find them unconvincing, a trained consular officer will be even more skeptical. Quote
