dexter9129 Posted July 15, 2020 Report Share Posted July 15, 2020 My wife is on an H-4 visa, We've got her admission to a Masters program for Fall-2020 while on H-4. I know that if we would like to use certain benefits CPT and STEM OPT, we have to be a full-time student on F-1 Status. Now that we can not travel to the home country and get an F-1 visa stamped for Change of status, also do it from here, it probably takes more than 10 months. My question is: Can she start her Masters on H-4 now in Fall and in parallel apply for F-1 Change of status and when it gets approved her visa status will be changed, will she be then eligible for STEMP OPT whenever it is approved?
