Passport expired and Green card interview

Hello,

My passport is expired last month and it is under renewal and given it back to consulate with other documents.

It may take another 45-60 days.I am wondering if valid passport is needed for EB2 Green interrview.I have photocopy of my old passport and I have valid Driving License as a photo ID.

Can someone please share their experiences if Passport is checked for EB Green card visa interview?

Or any alternate photo ID is sufficient.
