Visamit Posted July 8, 2020 Report Posted July 8, 2020 Hi. The company I was working for on H-1B (say Company A) was acquired by another company B late last year. I have an approved I-140 with company A, which helped me get my H-1B extended with company A. When B acquired A, I got my H-1B transferred to company B. But, I believe, I need to get a new PERM (and an I-140 subsequently) through company B if I intend to work for company B beyond the current approved H-1B period AND to be in contention for applying for an "adjustment of status", if my priority date (Aug 2013) were to become current. Is my understanding correct? During these trying times when USCIS is operating with reduced staff as well as recent policy changes, would it be prudent to delay starting a new PERM app? Seeking advice / suggestions from fellow visa holders / legal advisors / experts. Your help is much appreciated! Thank you! Vis Quote
