need new I94 . going to Canada through rainbow Bridge. SENIORS please HELP

Hi Guys

I got my new i797 without i94 and lawyer advised me to go outside US and get a new i94( i have a valid H1b stamp already). I would be travelling to niagara falls NY through train from NYC and I plan on crossing the Rainbow bridge by walking over to Canada and coming back to US using the same bridge. would I be able to get a new I94 like that. please help.

10 years back my wife do not have i-94 while crossing canadian boarder from USA. They sent her back and after week she got new I-94. Now she got GC, whenever she cross boarder they are pulling at booth asking us to go to big building , after verification they are allowing to canada. SInce its minor isssue and 10 year old , it there any posibility we can get rid of it.
