I 94 expired. H1 denied. Filed Family based AOS. Can Ian I work with receipt while waiting for EAD?

My H1B denied for specialty occupation.  Employer willing to file another H1. My I 94 expired.  Married a USC and filed AOS few days back.  Since I 94 expired and if I start work with receipt, will it complicate issue of EAD?

What is good for me now ? Sit idle and wait for EAD or work with receipt?
