I-94 expired with Amendment Backdated approval

Hi team , 

I came to US in Jan-2019 got visa stamping valid till Aug-2021 . My employer filed an amendment for diff location for same client in Aug-2019 . Got approval notice in Dec-2019 . The petition got approved with Back dated approval till Sep-2019 . New petition I797A got I-94 till Oct-10-2019 . My first I797 is still valid & I can still get old I-94  from online which has validity till Aug-2021  and my passport has stamping till Aug-2021 . So if I go to Mexico for AVR with old Petition & old I 94 card & return to previous work location , Will it be fine ? My employer suggested me to use AVR from Mexico .

Will CBP land based be updated with I -94 update details in the system ? as i can still see the future date i.e. Aug-2021 . Can I legally go to Mexico with previous documents ? Kindly help me with this .
