Buckeye230
I have Oath ceremony next week in San Antonio (Edgewood theater of performing arts). I have requested name change in citizen my application. I believe oath ceremony with name change can only be done in a Judicial ceremony. Does anyone know if this is a Judicial ceremony or is this a mistake and USCIS missed my name change request. Link to comment
patchrowcester
I believe it is possible to get your name changed at the oath ceremony at that location. My uncle got his citizenship at that location in 2010, and he had his name changed. Link to comment
JoeF
My understanding is that it is a judicial ceremony. I found an article from 2018 from CBS Austin that said "In a naturalization ceremony Thursday morning, U.S. District Judge Fred Birley welcomed more than 500 immigrants, including famously known WWE Wrestler “Alberto Del Rio” (Jose Alberto Rodriguez), at the Edgewood Theatre of Performing Arts." Since there was a judge, it was a judicial ceremony last year, so I assume it is the same this year. Link to comment
