Working with Expired H4EAD

Hi,

Can we work with Expired H4 EAD

and we do have filed Extension for H1, H4 and H4-EAD. all are pending decision.

when we talked to our employer, he says we can work since we have receipt numbers for all the 3 applications( H1, H4, H4-EAD).

we wanted to make sure we are not doing any thing wrong.

Expiration dates and the annotations on H4 Ead are there for a reason. No you cannot work on a expired H4 EAD. You should get it renewed well before expiry and only work after you receive the new renewed card in hand. Read the notes printed on h4 EAD. Receipts number are only relevant to H1bs , OPT stem extension based EAD and a few other types of applications. You must have a valid card in HAND before you can start working and get paid. 

You are only authorized to work through the expiration date on your EAD. If you still will be eligible for work authorization after that date, you should file for a renewal EAD by submitting another Form I-765. You cannot file for a renewal EAD more than 180 days before your original EAD expires.

We have filed H1b,h4,H4ead(extension) in premium processing. H1b got approved, got receipt notices for h4 and H4ead and gave biometrics on April 30th 
What is the expected time to get h4extension? 
Does anyone went through this process what are the expected time lines ?
